5-2 final - scary for a second, but nice way to end a home stand.

Yes - it was tense for a while.  I really wanted to go on the ice and put a pack of dynamite on the arse of Sean Hill and hope that would help his speed.  Well - it was an idea…  However, we finally got the goals late, and sealed the deal.

The Isles sometimes need to show that KILLER INSTINCT.  When you have a 3-0 lead, finish it.  They let this team back in; a team that did not score in almost 4 full games.  That second goal was a little scary.  It seemed that Ricky did not see that shot go by.  I think he was partially screened.  For all intents and purposes, he played OK.  Not terrible, but OK.

Well, we are 5-4-1-1.  We are over 500, and we are over the Rangers….. YEA TEAM!

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:

  1. Mike Sillinger - You almost did not notice him. However, he got the 4th goal, and Congrats on #100assisted on two others.
  2. Richard Park - got an assist and really looked strong all night.  The wheels are always in motion when he is on the ice.
  3. Jason Blake - team leading 6th goal, and 100th in his NHL career.  Congratulationg Blakey!

GOLD STAR AWARD

  • Those cute kids that walked onto the ice inbetween periods in the costume contest.

TIN TWIT AWARD

  • The fans that DID NOT SHOW UP TONIGHT!  It is getting more and more DISGUSTING!  It really stinks, and it makes us look bad that we are doing so well and not getting the support at the ARENA!  If you are a fan, SHOW YOUR LOYALTY and show up at the ARENA!

Yashin deserved to be star #2 tonight Mr. Harding. A strong game and another goal. He’s looking back to his 01-02 form when he got here.

The Bates, Sillinger and Park line is looking to be this year’s version of the Blake Scatchard and Wiemer line, just 3 hard working dudes hustling and cycling the puck well

Dont disagree with the assessment oh pirate boy! I just want to give some love to Mr. Park and his great play. Yashin will be stars in may games to come. RP may not! I wish all the guys played as inspiring as Park does.

Hey there Gary…I personally take offense to the comment about fans not showing up…some of us just can’t afford to go to the games anymore, especially now that they are requiring children as young as 3 to buy a seat…so no season tix for us anymore. I would give my left arm to be there every game but just can’t do it.

Hopefully, people will start getting off of Yashin’s back. I agree that we are seeing him in form that we haven’t seen in quite a few years. He’s shooting the puck and looking confident out there.

Again, close and annoying at times, but a win is a win. These are the two point games we need to collect and avoid squandering. Thursday is going to be a test, but we have to build on the last two games and keep moving forward.

Goose - thanks for being honest. However, my opinion is my opinion. Check the newest entry. You will see what I mean.

I have no problem with the cost factor, it is others that just wont show unless they win. This is why Islanders fans are known in NHL circles as the WORST FANS IN THE NHL. That (crowd) just proves the point so easily.
