According to Greg Logan at Newsday quoting Ted Nolan:

“Yashin wasn’t playing the way we expected him to and the way he expected to play,” Nolan said. “So, he went back to the doctors after the game, and they found out he had a little tendinitis in his knee that is still affecting him. So, we’re going to give him some time off to make sure he’s 100 percent before he comes back this time. He wants to play, but we think it would be best if he makes sure he’s 100 percent ready to go and contribute the way he was at the beginning of the year.

“We felt it would be best for us to take the lead on this and force him not to play and make sure he’s rested.”
