Another loss - I think the Fat lady is coming

I hate to admit these things… I love the playoffs.  But however, we are starting to look more like we are a non-playoff team that in it.

There is still a chance, and I will never say die, unless we are mathematically out.  However, realism is setting in, and it is making my life miserable.

And what do I attribute us NOT being in?

Sorry DP Fans - but #39 is THE REASON we are not in.  Too many times, he has been burned by rambling out of the net.  This time, in Montreal, he definitely should NOT have left his net.  There was room for him to set on Begin as he would have came down for a potential breakaway.  Steve Begin is NOT Steve Shutt!!!! (for those youngins - Steve Shutt was a 60 goal scorer for Montreal in the 70’s and 80’s)

He has to stop trying to be the hero, and do his damn job, which is making saves right in FRONT of the net - not 60 feet away!  Start being a TEAM guy!

I know I am getting flack for this, but I don’t care.  He (DP) costs us a playoff run, and he should know that it is:

ALL

HIS

FAULT!!!!!!

Well - the last game against the Rangers this season.  God I hope we go on all cylinders tomorrow and can squeak it out.  However, I am not comfortable about this.  The Rangers are playing well, and they are still playing like a bunch of bullies and getting away with murder.  So what will make tomorrow different?

Play fire with fire.  Get them at their own game.  Go after them like gangbusters.  Take Avery out, if necessary.

That is all I want to talk about this…. I am done.  Besides, I have been so busy in the office lately, and the beginning of the month is here, which makes my life even more hectic.

Talk Wednesday after the game - hopefully I am happy!

Again, I am not at all of the mind that Ricky’s move has not been a serious contribution to where we stand. Put him healthy and playing as well as he was in net over the last few weeks and we would have gotten a good number of points further than we are in the standings. The reality is Dunham did not deliver and the Senators took advantage of horrible defense on Saturday.

I still, however, must also point out that too many of the guys have not really delivered themselves since the trade deadline. Obviously, Blake, Yashin and a few others have been coming to play, but too many others have not. We can’t win if we don’t score goals. We have to guys on this team who are 30 plus goal scorers and will not come close to reaching that. The Hunter line has fizzled out, and we have not been playing good defense at all in front of whomever is in net.

I agree with you about the Rangers. Come out swinging. Run the goaltender and just play with a serious chip on your shoulder. Make them take penalties and send a few off hobbling. That sounds barbaric or unsportsman-like, but the Rangers have been playing like goons and have, because of the NHL’s inconsistent officiating, been getting away with it.

Gary, you are ABSOLUTELY 100% correct!!! If DP (short for Dipsh*t) had stayed in his net where he belonged we wouldn’t be in this predicament. And it is ALL HIS FAULT!!!

Someone needs to buy this guy a clue and maybe get him some maturity while we’re at it!! I feel for Ted Nolan having to deal with this guy. The saddest part of this is that DP can be a really top-notch goalie if he ever grows up.

Here, here. There was no reason for him to skate out that far. he stops shots all the time in shot outs. What was the possible difference. One bad judgment call, and his season is all but done. Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Hes also the player that got us in the position to TANK a season (you know, already being in the playoff picture) Without him, were fighting for a lottery pick, its his own G.D.’s team’s fault for falling like Mike York on a hockey rink once their best player is out. Yours supposed to use that as a rallying cry, now a we feel sorry for ourselves. Granted Mike Dunham was garbage, but his team wasnt much better. Anyway it still isnt over yet, and we have to go out tonight and kick the Rangers asses.

For a minute there I thought I was on a Flyer fan blog. DipSh*t? Garbage? Seems like maturity is needed in others besides DP. He’s a 26 year old goalie in the NHL - what’s your excuse? Vent yes, trash no.
