Well -we know that NO ISLANDERS fan is disappointed after Sunday.
Although they gave a good fight (sound familiar), the better team came through….
I think the Sabres has some issues with matchups in games 3 and 4 - and of course the refs getting their 2 cents in…. To me the best refereees are the ones that you do NOT notice. If Kerry Fraser was here, he would looking for some serious face time…
But anyway, as a fan of the game, the Rangers had a good year. They improved from the prior year, and won a series (let alone playoff games) for the first time in nearly a decade. Well - the Thrashers were playing like the old Danbury Trashers (pun on words)… They did well - but now the fans that had the ‘canyon of heroes parade’ already planned, can now go on and do other spring time functions like planting flowers and working on their backswing.
Rest in peace, New York Rangers!!!!
Have a good summer!
PS - Forward Report Card coming in the next few days…

Great comments!!!Yes, Ranger fans are very quiet now!!! HA! HA!
It was rather amusing to me how more than a few Ranger fan pals of mine went from subdued hopefulness in the Atlanta series to suddenly believing that the sweep was a sign of the Cup being in their hands. Yes, perhaps they improved compared to last year, but I must point out again that they finished with 94 total points and only made the push in the last dozen games to “secure” that spot. If we had matched up with Atlanta in round one and the Rangers had had the Sabers, we would have been facing the Sabers in round 2.
Nevertheless, it did my old heart Good to see the Rangers go down. My spring and summer peace will now come. I don’t have to hear about how “deep” the Rangers are going to go. They are one round behind the Isles on the golf course.
As for the rest of the playoffs, I’m not sure if the Sens will beat the Sabers. I think the Sabers wil only be beat if a physical game is consistently played, but I’ll take your prediction. I do firmly back your feeling about the Westoutcome.
