OK - With Fedotenko and Guerin in the fold, and a possibility of Mike Comrie - we are not looking as bad as we did 24 hours ago.
If everyone just gets off Snowy and let him do his job - we will be fine…..
More talk to follow… Whaddya think????

I’m happy with Guerin and the thoughts of Comrie, but not holding my breath. We took a huge blow by losing Blake, Yash and Smyth. I’m not so much on Snow’s back, its the fact that the owner knows nothing about hockey. I don’t like how they ask us to be patient when we’ve been patient for 15+ years now.
But hey, i’ll take it, i’m happy for now. Lets see what else they can do.

It’s a start.

Mike Comrie is now official for at least one year.
I’m feeling a little better on offense although it still needs work. If they don’t re-sign Asham they need to get someone gritty and mean like Todd Fedoruk.
Now we need a couple of veteran D’s who can really do a good job of protecting the net or else it is going to be open season on Rick. And you can’t expect him to carry the team all season.

Fedoruk is spent. Better to bring Chris Simon back and hang on to Ash. A D-man like Danny Markov or maybe Andy Sutton would be a big help, but there’s a group here now that Ted can work with…after July 1 it’ll be real sweet to b-slap the Rangers!!!

1) Simon has been signed from sources within the organization. For 1 year at 650K + incentives that could push it to 1-1.2 mil
2) The team needs to add another defensemen. They have had talks with Sutton as well as Tanabe. Souray wants 6.5-7 mil, so we doubt the Isles will bite at that inflated salary!
3) They still have plenty of cap space to add another forward and defensemen. The forward may not come until August when arbitration causes some teams to have to shed salary and trade bargains can be had.

1)BTW, naming Guerin captain on the suface sounds great, BUT:
a) He wasn’t informed until he was about to walk up to the microphone this morning!
b) The older guys who slugged it out last season(Silinger/Witt) were probaby more deserving. An ‘A’ for Guerin would hav ebeen appropriate. Its not like he has had the persona that Smyth had, of a natural leader.
c) From someone afar and not a fan of the team, seems like a PR stunt more than anything.
