Forget Wile Coyote!
Ted is da man!
Just takes a little switch to ignite sleeping (well maybe not sleeping, but dozing) giants. Moving Guerin to the 3rd line did just that!
Although his goals were on the PP, Bill Guerin, moved to a line with Hilbert and Sillinger, played with energy and consistency. Hunter was placed on the first line, and was a total ‘pest’ in front of Kolzig.
Bryan Berard gets another PP Goal that somehow avoided Kolzig. Three PP Goals will put the Isles in the top 5 on the list.
Special Kudos to Chris Campoli for his excellent work on the PP, along with his overall play. His play has improved so much, that it may inevitably cause the team to move a D man (I think #47 is the odd man out…). Did you know that Campoli had 4 assists? That should be a big headline, but the Captain’s Hat trick steals the thunder a bit. I gues it is be
Interesting seeing Aaron Johnson on the wing. He played ok (about 4 minutes and got a penalty putting a hug on Kozlov). He should go back to BPT soon, and get the minutes he needs.
I bet the Caps would like to see Witt back on their “D” line…
OTHER THOUGHTS:
Congrats to Don Waddell for getting the Thrashers their first “W” of the season against the LAST PLACE RANGERS!!!! Well done… See what I mean about chemistry? I said that before the season started… You can build an “All Star Team”, but if they do not mesh together, it can spell disaster. If Renney doesn’t right that ship immediately, he may be talking to the panhandlers on 33rd street.
Flyers with 2 straight shoutouts? They are not the whipping boys of the Atlantic Division anymore? Notice that Daniel Briere has a nasty streak? Ask Patrik Elias about that… Got that Broad Street mentality, eh?
Does Marty Brodeur look ‘average’? What has happened to the psyche of the Hall of Fame goalie? What has Sutter done to him? Hopefully we see the same guy tomorrow night.
Sorry I have not written in the last couple of days. I have been under the weather. See you at the Coliseum on Saturday night.

1) Very nice effort/road win. M-A Bergeron when he’s played has looked disinterested/bad. Its the reason he was moved out of Edmonton in the first place.
2) Ask Ovechkin about Danielle Briere’s ‘mean streak’. Last year Danny boy tried to make a soproano out of AO using his stick as a spear
3) The Devils/Brodeur will be fine. Don’t forget they have been on the longest road trip of anyone. Once thats over they will have plenty of home dates to beef up their record. (But why Newark of all places to build!?!)

It is a shame if Bersheron ends up being the odd man out. With that lazer of a shot, it’s hard to believe he might be the one gone. Obviously, he has played utterly crappy on the defensive end of his game, however.
I agree about the Devils. I think it’s nine straight on the road and under a new coach with a completely different system. I think NJ is going to be a strong team as the season progresses.
As much joy as I’m taking in the Rangers stumbling along, again, its less than ten games in. Let’s hope they can’t get there act together, but let’s also not be too quick to gloat either.

John - in response to your comments (which are always great….)
1) I like MAB too, but he is such a liability on the back end. I think he played OVER HIS HEAD with us last year, but when he settles down this year his defensive positioning is blantantly flawed and he gets “Beaten like a rented MULE”, as the legendary announcer Mike Lange would say…
2) It may be 10 games - but it is ALWAYS nice to see the Rangers beaten…. Hey - the other side does it to us ALL the time. Why can’t we gloat… Yes it is a long season, and who says for them it is going to be BETTER……

Hey. Why not move Bergeron to a forward position? He’s got a shot that throwing away would be plain wasteful.

I agree with Nick G! My intern came up with the best idea. Put Bergeron on the line with Hunter and Sillinger move Hilbert to the fourht or blue line. It could work. All we need to do is get Nolan on the phone!
