Please add a comment if you are reading this… I am real curious to hear your answers….
Two polls, and please justify your answers (no grading of course…)
1. Should Simon be removed from this team? Yes or no…
2. Should the Isles cut their losses on Bergeron? Yes or no…
No peeking on others around you.. Please let me know either way, as well as your opinions on this?
Thanks so much!

Simon: YES
if he hasnt learned ANYTHING from his chop to hollweg, than he never will learn, he doesnt belong on this team, let alone playing anymore. 7 infractions is way too much.
Bergeron: YES
self admittedly said hes not comfortable out there, and thats why hes playing like crap on a stick. theres a few teams out there looking for a relativey cheap PP-QB (chicago for one). ship him off for whatever we can get for him. we have a few d-men in the system who are more than capable of filling in if we need

1) Yes. No questions asked at this point.
2) Probably. I am was a huge MAB fan when we first brought him in. But he is a huge defensive liability for us at this level.

Yes to both. I admire Ted’s dedication to Simon as well as his faith in him. But that is 2 plays in less than a year where there is absolutely no excuse for what he did. They were within reach saturday and his play cost them dearly. He does not add anything special to the team. As far as Bergeron goes, his defensive screw ups are something this team cannot live with. They do not have the offensive talent to make up for them. Booming slap shot not withstanding.

Yes to Simon. While I was ok with the signing, in the back of mind I was leery.
No to Bergeron. I think with a little more confidence he can be back to where he was last season.

i think simon should go. You kinda let him slide with the Holleweg chop because emotions are always up for a Ranger game, and it was kind of a reaction to a viscous hit. Maybe he even had a concussion. Anyway, this one was verbally (if at all) provoked. Bottom line, those were two winnable games….. especially this last one, and he cost them major penalties late in the third in both.
i think bergeron should stay. I guess I am a sucker for the offensive defensmen going back to the Paul Boutiller days, but I feel he is a streaky kind of player who will hit an upswing. The only trouble is, sometimes players like him only hit that sweet streak when they are in new surroundings (see last year) so I am not 100% sure. But, considering the struggles on offense this year, I wouldn’t let him go just yet.

Simon: yes… he’s only making things worse (from a franchise-wide point of view)
Bergeron: no… he’s got a lot to learn, for sure, but he’s got a lot of potential. Unless we can get a sure-fire scorer in a trade, he should stay.

Simon: Yes. He’s cool as a person from what I here, but the fact of the matter is, that’s two bad infractions for one team.
Bergeron: no…Convert! him! to! forward! and! let! Hilbert! Go!

1. No, I don’t think Simon should be cut or released from the team. I think he should receive whatever help or do whatever soul searching is necessary and serve whatever number of games he gets from the league. Beyond the incident, I think he is an asset to the team in leadership and presence.
2. I’m split over this. MAB is not playing how he did when he arrived here, yet that ability is still obvious there in the package. He has not played well this season at all, yet who do we have to replace his shot at the point? Berard is not living up to earlier expectations either.
My two cents.

1. Yes, Simon should be off the team. His mediocre play is not nearly worth his rediculous antics that are a detrement to the team. I honestly don’t think his play this year alone is deserving of a roster spot.
2. I don’t think we can give up on MAB yet. I’d like to see them try him as a forward, as several people have already said. Also, the powerplay is definietley better with him on the ice.

1. Simon has to go. He is a blackeye for the sport as a whole and is a loose cannon. While I know he is the nicest guy off the ice (he always stops to talk to my 4 year old son when he plays at Iceworks), he has no self control and is a liability for the sport. I just feel bad for Ted because he really tried so hard to give him every advantage.
2. Bergeron is a toss up. I think he might be better suited on offense than defense. That being said we have extra players on both sides. Maybe a trip to Bridgeport would be in order to remind him of the caliber he should be playing at. Simply scratching or benching him obviously isn’t doing the trick - and may in fact be killing any shred of confidence he is clinging to. If he doesn’t wake up and smell the pucks after that then we should cut our losses. But in reality, most of the defense (and offense)have not been on their game - the team needs a wake up call as a whole!
