So many emotions going through my brain…
Disgust…
Wonder….
Disappointment….
Rage….
Spotting a trend?
No wins on home ice since 2007. I am glad I was working and missed the game entirely. I got home and saw some of it - but for only a few times in my life, I turned away from the game… The movie CANNONBALL was on… No - not the Burt Reynolds movie, but the David Carradine one (the original - from 1976).
Flat is not an excuse anymore… The flu is not an excuse anymore… Injuries are not an excuse… I think the word passion comes to mind…
Where is it?
I know the guys are not going through the motions - I get that… But it is that something extra that I do not see. Three guys attacking one player - leaving others alone with options galore.
Too much ‘along the wall’ movement with nothing coming between the faceoff circles. I am not going to name names (we all can), but the same alignments and positioning that players made in the first 10-20 games of the season are all a forgotten, distant memory.
They need to play desperate hockey now. I thought that we would be saying this a few later, but it needs to be said.
Ricky has been standing on his head. They are leaving him to dry. Both the D and the Forwards are at fault. Accountability needs to be out in the open.
Maybe the road can be a panacea for what ails them. Just ask the Giants about playing on the road???
If this team has any ideas for mid April matches, the time is NOW to correct the problems!
And what will I do. Continue to come (when I can get off from work - that is…), and support the team. That is what I do. I may get mad - but I will not walk away… Hopefully you Islanders fans will do the same thing.

In some ways, as a few people have commented here and in other places, our lack of offense was going to be a “problem” for us. I had no illusions or delusions about this. However, I am perplexed by how many of our “big name” guys are just not coming to the table. I don’t have to name names either, but this is not a situation in which one or two guys can be singled out. I think that most of our offense is to blame and our defense sure has hung out our only bright spot, Ricky, to dry more often than is acceptable. I don’t want to be over critical or judgmental, as I don’t take the ice and play in their skates, but the time is now for collective behinds to be kicked and booted quite hard. We are losing ground in the standings, and the green of the golf course is about all we might see in April and May, if the ship don’t get itself righted. Yes, the range of emotions as a fan are running in me, and I’m not afraid to admit that I’d like to see pure Desperation shown reflected in the guys for the stretch.

Ever since Campoli has gone out!!! I know we are a .500 or so team and that was expected, but we need something, someone, or someone to STEP up…what/who, I do not know…. If it weren’t for DP and Dube we may be in a lot worse trouble..
