A perspective about the Islanders, Hockey and other ramblings from Gary Harding, a former Islanders Booster Club President and season ticket holder since 1989. The Blog Name, basically tells you where I sit. From Row B, Seat 1 in Section 317, I watch the boys that wear my home on their sweaters play hockey over 40 times (hopefully more) every season. As of October 2008, Gary is a member of the NYI Blog Box, a collection of Islander Bloggers, who will be working at the Coliseum this season, talking about their favorite team.

I have never really understood the deal about Comrie. He has shown flashes of a guy who could make a serious difference here and who could have made a mark in the league by becoming an offensive leader and true force. However, to me, where losing with or without him. I don't see a reason to include him in the future of this team.

It is, as an Islander fan, frustrating and infuriating to hear the word "rebuilding" again. However, that is the situation, and it is not an overnight process. Besides Pittsburgh, look at Chicago and Edmonton. Also, Phoenix. These are teams that took their lumps for a few years, and their fans had to tolerate some bad seasons. All we can hope is that what we have continues to develop and what we may get will make this franchise among the leaders a few years down the line.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('35350','John','I have never really understood the deal about Comrie.
Can we all chant "Primakov"? I have been totally unimpressed by Comrie for a long time. Apparently I was in the minority as many thought that he was the Isles salvation.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('35347','Rich','Can we all chant \"Primakov\"?
