Witt out for 5

See ya next week, Brendan....

I can definitely go the nasty route and say that Colie Campbell is ridiculous….\

However, I can see the reasoning…

Witt gets 5 for the hit on Niklas Hagman. As Billy Jaffe said on the broadcast last night, because Witt did not have his stick, the tendency is to get the hands up before making the hit.

However, it was a hit that executives in the NHL does not want to see.

The $64,000 question is….???

Does Witt still get traded?

Tune into this site and see what happens….

I will be at the game, and will go down for quotes, but no covering the game. I will be sitting in my seat for a change, and do a REAL VIEW FROM SECTION 317.

See ya.

I will preface this by saying that I perfectly understand that the NHL desires to keep the nastiness out of the game and to rightfully penalize players who cross the line. I personally have no problems with suspensions, when they are deserved, and will never tell anyone that there should Not be disciplinary action taken against an offending player.

However, with that said, Colie Campbell’s history with the Eastern Conference teams, as he had a connection with the Rangers, is well documented. As far as I’m concerned, and this is strictly my opinion alone here, he is a disgrace and a blemish on the face of the NHL. His bias can clearly be seen in how Islander, Flyer and Devil players, in particular, are handled. And, before anyone gets the idea of simply saying that I am speaking from the perspective as an “angry Islander fan”, several players and staff members on the Flyers, Devils and Islanders have stated this same opinion. Only a few months back, I believe it was Ganger on the Flyers, who made this very same point after a borderline hit on him was not given any attention by Campbell. I’m not going to start going hit by hit in terms of comparisons, and I am not saying that BW didn’t deserve some kind of suspension, but five games … sorry, but that’s just pure, Campbell horse crap.
