A perspective about the Islanders, Hockey and other ramblings from Gary Harding, a former Islanders Booster Club President and season ticket holder since 1989. The Blog Name, basically tells you where I sit. From Row B, Seat 1 in Section 317, I watch the boys that wear my home on their sweaters play hockey over 40 times (hopefully more) every season. As of October 2008, Gary is a member of the NYI Blog Box, a collection of Islander Bloggers, who will be working at the Coliseum this season, talking about their favorite team.

Well, I think it would have been unrealistic to believe we'd win every game. Growing pains and learning experiences are going to be a part of this team's development for quite some time. It is a matter of the character of the team rising and enabling them to put Wednesday night behind them.

A couple of thoughts from the game.
1. In the proverbial "big picture" it made no difference in the final score, but the penalty to Witt that led to the second Saber goal on the power play was questionable at best. I guess it could be argued that one can play the "if" debate all they want, but at that stage of the game, still down only 1-0 could have been a different story.

2. I'd love an explanation of the third goal. Howie and Billy did not seem to have any idea Why it was awarded. Again, not a factor in the final score, but still, I'd really be curious as to why Toronto saw it fit to basically overrule the on ice officials.<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('63425','John Panarese'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('63425','John Panarese','Well, I think it would have been unrealistic to believe we\'d win every game.
